ABOUT

Yeah, but who is she?

Cassie Wells was born in Phoenix, but moved to Oro Valley at the age of nine. During high school, she played basketball and volleyball developing her competitiveness. At 18, she came back to the valley to attend ASU. There Cassie started dating her now husband, Paul Wells, while working at Joe’s Crab Shack. Lessons are certainly learned at crab shacks. Having hosted, bussed, served, bartended and managed,  Cassie learned that customer service isn’t always “the customer’s always right,” but more along the lines of “how can I best advocate for my company and the customer?”

Cassie was hired straight out of an ASU career fair in 2012, worked with the same company for over 10 years, but took a break to part time for a few years in the middle to stay at home with her two babies. She now enjoys time with her crazy kiddos, fishing, boating, card games and rapping. Above all, she loves to make others laugh.

Where It All Started

In her former role as Corporate Sales Manager for a national Audio-Visual integrator, Cassie quickly discovered she had a passion for hunting. While she loved serving her loyal customers, she couldn’t shake the need to chase leads and discover information about projects and companies, viewing each opportunity as a treasure map waiting to be discovered. With Cassie leading the team, new client business increased more than $7 million in less than three years.

Having immersed herself for over ten years in the AEC industry in her last role, Cassie learned that business isn’t completed just through contracts and proposals. When one focuses on exceptional connections, authentic relationships and deep respect for one another, the business falls into place.

A BEAUTIFUL PARTNERSHIP

With Modern BD as your Business Development partner, you can gain access to an extensive network, strategize with a proven sales leader and save money in the process. Instead of investing in a new employee, you’re able to take a test drive to see if this is the best fit for you using one of two payment options. But let’s save the fun stuff for your evaluation.

Get to know Modern Business Development

Founded in 2022, Modern Business Development (or Modern BD) serves to fill the niche market of subcontractors who both need Business Development services, but might not be ready to financially invest in a full-time Director of BD. Cassie has seen firsthand the hesitancy of hiring Business Development professionals. There’s concern of investing so many onboarding resources into a new hire with the unknown if they’re the right “fit.” There’s the question of how long does one need to wait until those in the industry recognize this person, let alone associate him or her with one’s company. There’s a fear of hiring a rockstar, only to have him or her leave for the next highest dollar. It’s scary. But it doesn’t have to be.
